Mechanic Ability to Reserve Non-File & Unknown Part #'s

Mechanics may not always be able to provide a part # and may not acquire the skill to look up through resources such as Dealer Networking Applications. A mechanic having/knowing the part #, on most occasions, will depend on how accessible the faulty part is and/or if it would be removed during diagnosis.

It would be beneficial if mechanics were able to reserve a non-file part # (if known) and/or if they had the ability to write a description of the part if the part # is unknown. This possibly could be done if there were a “Note” field within the reservation and a pop-up note for the parts clerk when the request is opened.
