Parts reservation currently doesn’t notify anyone when a reservation is created. Some people may only review requisitions once a week, or reservations once a day. They certainly aren’t going to check it every hour, and if they aren’t, that means that the vehicle could be stuck in a bay waiting on parts. Right now, we are depending on that mechanic not only creating the reservation, but then walking to the parts room and notifying the clerk they just created a reservation, which is contrary to Ron Turley’s advice (keep the mechanics from making unnecessary trips).
I would propose adding a specific contact in the facility contact screen, and sending messages through messenger to that employee (or external emails using the user’s SMTP settings to the fac contacts email address). The type should be Parts Clerk or Parts Res, etc. TBD
